Since beginning their partnership in 2019, New Balance and thisisneverthat have forged a harmonious collaborative relationship, coming together to rework a slew of performance runners. This time around, the two turn their attention away from performance runners to basketball, bringing the much-loved 550 under the spotlight.
The approach taken is an exercise in subtlety, with an earthy shade of brown across the canvas uppers paired with muted black accents, mimicking the look and feel of vintage hiking and skate shoes of the ‘90s. Co-branding is worked into the heels and tongues, too, to drive home the collaborative look.
