Ewan is a partner at Grimshaw with international experience across a range of sectors including infrastructure, transport and city-centre commercial development. He was project architect for the Stirling Prize shortlisted Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station and Director of Architecture for Sydney’s North West metro line. Ewan designed the award-winning Newport City footbridge and leads the practice’s work for EDF Energy’s next generation of nuclear power stations. He worked on the Colne Valley Viaduct and other major civil engineering structures for HS2 and is now working on the design of HS2’s Euston terminus. Ewan works closely with major developers, leading office and residential projects. Key completed projects include Lloyds Bank’s headquarters and The St. Botolph Building, both in the City of London, and City Quays 2 in Belfast, built within a Grimshaw urban masterplan. Work currently in development includes One Brannan Street at Wood Wharf, for Canary Wharf Group, and a 123-unit residential scheme in Putney. Ewan has worked with the Design Commission for Wales since 2005, including a ten-year term as a board member, where he chairs design review panels and assists with advice to clients and government.
