Nicola joined RSHP in 2014 and was made an Associate in 2019. Trilingual in Italian, French and English, Nicola plays an integral role in the team which works on the practice’s projects in France and French-speaking countries. He has a Masters in urban planning from the LSE (London School of Economics) which has enriched his knowledge of urban development and enabled him to address architectural issues through different perspectives. Currently, Nicola is working on the Montparnasse Masterplan in Paris, which aims to radically transform a pivotal neighbourhood of more than 9 hectares, bordering both the Montparnasse station and Tower, by opening up the existing buildings on the site, creating new routes and vistas across the previously impassable and introverted shopping centre that currently dominates the approach to the station. He is also working on the Gare de Lyon-Daumesnil masterplan, located next to the Gare de Lyon (Paris 12ème). Commissioned by the Société Nationale des Espaces Ferroviaires, this project on an occupied site of 7 hectares aims to create a mixed neighbourhood of which half is made up of public spaces including a green park, whilst also housing 100,000m² of built area: housing, offices, retails, education facilities and patrimonial conservation of the existing Halle aux Messageries – a former postal treatment station.
