Brian Eckersley co-founded structural and facade engineers Eckersley O’Callaghan in 2004, with the ambition to integrate clever and innovative engineering into architecture. They have since grown to become one of the UK’s foremost design-led engineering consultancy firms with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris, Hong Kong, Sydney, Delhi and Manchester. Their work ranges across all building sectors and typologies, and they have won multiple industry awards. Clients include most UK commercial developers and major contractors, academic and cultural institutions as well as tech firms including Atlassian, Google and Apple. They have an international reputation for engineering transparent structures and a willingness to rigorously develop the use of unconventional materials in their work. They have engineered almost all Apple retail stores in the world and significant parts of Apple HQ in California, as well as recently completing the Sky Pool in London. Brian graduated in Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol, followed by Architecture at London Metropolitan University and he has taught at many UK architectural schools during his 30-year career.
