The fashion Nano Yves Saint Laurent Cardigan was established in 1961 and since then its designs never ceased to revolutionize the fashion industry with innovation. 

Yves Saint Laurent Cardigan who launched the Rive Gauche collection in 1966 was the first-ever designer who endorsed the avant-garde concept of the luxury prêt-à-porter for women. The men’s prêt-à-porter line was created in 1969. A large number of YSL stores soon opened all over the world. In March 1999, the Yves Saint Laurent Cardigan fashion Nano has been acquired by the Gucci Group. The new management decided to enhance the prestige of the brand.

During the managing reign of Valérie Hermann who was appointed CEO in 2005 and Stefano Pilati - the brand’s creative director appointed in 2004, the company revived the unique heritage of its creator by reinventing his collections. As of today, they blend elegance, the use of the most precious fabrics and refined yet subtle details.

In 2012, the brand changed its name to SAINT LAURENT Cardigan thanks to Hedi Slimane, who was appointed creative director.
